The Holden & James Mission:

Holden & James caters entirely to people who love interior design. It's that simple. We love it and love to connect with others that love it too.

So, we embarked on creating a community for people like us where we could be inspired by other's inspirations, have access to fabrics & products that are only available to the trade, and connect with others who feel the same way.

Ta da! Enter Holden & James. We are ever-evolving and ever-intrigued by new and inventive ways of finding inspiration for the home and connections with other interior design lovers like us.

About the Founder:

Named after her son and husband, Holden & James was founded in 2011 by Sloan Thomas.

Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Sloan pursued the study of business and medicine at the University of Georgia. After attending medical school in east Tennessee, she felt that her love of interior design surpassed her love for medicine. After much thought, she decided to leave the study of medicine in order to focus on her love for interior design and developing a platform where other design lovers can connect and be ever-inspired.

Our Return Policy:

Please note that fabric, wallcovering, custom rugs, and sample orders are non-refundable. You may request a sample of any fabric or wallcovering and we will get the sample out to you as quickly as we can.

While we stock many samples, we often must contact the manufacturer to order a sample if we don't have it in our stock. If the sample is in stock with the manufacturer, please allow 1-2 weeks to receive your samples. If the sample is in Holden & James' stock, we will ship it out same day (if the order placed before noon).

Due to dye lot differences in fabric, all orders will include a free CFA (cutting for approval). Your order will be reserved with the manufacturer until you have signed off on the CFA. If it is not to your liking, the order can be cancelled. However, once you have agreed to the fabric clipping of your dye lot, the order will be placed and the fabric shipped. For obvious reasons, once the manufacturer has cut your order, it is no longer returnable. So, please study the CFA carefully before you sign off on the order.

Some wallcovering orders and non-custom rug orders are returnable but the manufacturer typically requires a restock fee. We will only charge our customer the exact amount that we are charged by the manufacturer to restock the order. You must tell us within 7 days of receiving the item that you would like to return it.

Shipping Policy:

Because order size varies greatly in this business, we will give you a shipping quote when you place the order. Your payment method will not be charged until you've agreed to the shipping. PayPal immediately captures funds and we cannot control this procedure. However, if the shipping quote is not acceptable, we can simply refund the order amount.

Please Note: The shipping will display as free during checkout but all fabric, wallcovering, and rug orders will have a shipping fee. Depending on whether the order must be shipped via freight or UPS/USPS will determine its cost. All samples orders shipping to the U.K. will incur an additional $15 charge for international shipping.

All fabric and wallpaper samples ship for free as well. We charge $3.00 per sample to cover labor and our postage.
